Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)
Cafeteria Plan Advisors is our Health Care FSA and Dependent Care FSA provider. This plan is offered to active employees only and is 100% paid by the employee. The FSA plan allows you to set aside a portion of your pay, pre-tax, to cover most out of pocket expenses.
Newly enrolled members of the Flexible Spending Account Program will receive a the new blue Prepaid Benefits Card. The Prepaid Benefits Card is loaded with the value of your annual FSA election amount and can be used instead of cash, to pay for qualified health care expenses such as prescription or health plan co-pays or deductibles, medical or dental bills, orthodontics, vision services or eyeglasses, and various eligible over-the-counter items.
The Dependent Care FSA allows you to use pre-tax dollars for qualified day care expenses for dependents under age 13, elderly dependents, or dependents with special needs, including day care, preschool, before/after school care, day camp, and elder day care. This plan is a claim-based reimbursement plan (no benefit card), as such participants must submit claims each plan year to receive arrund funds.
