Joseph “Jac” Carreiro was named to the Mayors top 10 List in recognition of academic achievement in 2015. He graduated from Tufts University with a BA in Community Health, BS in Biology and an MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
Although Jac’s current employment is classified, we can share that he is a Program Evaluator. He was recently involved in an evaluation of vaccination programs, both in the US and abroad. His research into vaccination distribution equity among jail populations in Massachusetts indicated that there was a disconnect in the implementation of policy.
Jac has also been involved in estimating the impact of human resources and best practices on routine immunization programs in a select few countries. He hopes to be able to give evidence-based information on provision of effective and efficient resource distribution to governments and NGOs starting new routine immunization programs within primary healthcare facilities. This work is especially relevant for COVID vaccine distribution.
