This is a program of The Actuarial Foundation. Through this unique program, we promote access and opportunities for students skilled in math and interested in becoming actuaries. In addition to a scholarship, our STEM Stars receive mentorship from actuaries, exam resources, immersive in-person and virtual experiences, exposure to internship and industry opportunities, and guidance throughout a student's college experience. Open to individuals in their senior year of high school or those who have graduated high school within the last two years and will enter a 4-year university as a freshman. A Thea Bowman Scholar must maintain full-time enrollment at an accredited Catholic college or university beginning in the fall of the year. Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements to qualify.
The selection of Thea Bowman Scholars will be done through an ad hoc committee of the Thea Bowman Foundation. Generally, it is expected that a Thea Bowman Scholar is a high school student transitioning to college or a current freshmen or sophomore at one of our partner colleges or universities in current good academic standings and has been accepted to attend one of our accredited Catholic college or university partners listed on the application.
