Student Teaching Assignment and Observation Hours Request
We are so pleased that you are considering New Bedford Public Schools for your Student Teaching and Observation. The following information will cover the procedure and requirements for all Student Teaching and Observation Hours requests. Please follow the steps below as stated. Do not reach out to the schools directly.  Please note that the request along with the submission of all required document must be made in a timely manner so that we may accommodate the process and placement. 

Step 1

  • Obtain an official letter from your College/University on their letterhead outlining the Student Teaching/Observation/Assignment requirements.
  •  This will list, but is not limited to:
    •  Grade level for student teaching/observation
    • Hours needed/Length of dates for the program
    • Professor’s name and contact information
    • Licensure that the student is working towards
    • Upload the letter using the google form in Step 2

Step 2

  • Complete the google form using the link below. Incomplete forms will not be accepted and will be sent back

Step 3

  • Once the HCS team has received your letter and form they will confirm with the school principal that your request has been accepted
  • Once HCS has received confirmation from the school, a HCS Representative will reach out to you and schedule an in-person appointment to complete all background checks and necessary forms for the Student Teaching/Observation Hours request.
  • Once the results of your background checks are cleared, you will be notified and will then contact the school principal and set up your desired schedule
    • Please note that you should not contact the school principal until you have been notified by Human Capital Services.
