It is the School Committee's desire that maximum use of school property be enjoyed by the townspeople. It is the Committee's intent that such use will maintain safe conditions and preserve the property for school program use. Use of school buildings and other facilities by organizations will be permitted only when a worthy educational, civic, or charitable purpose will be served; or a substantial group of citizens from the community will be benefited.

All renters must have a current Certificate of Liability Insurance on file with the School Department. The Certificate of Liability Insurance should include the following:

The Certificate Holder should list “New Bedford Public Schools, 455 County Street, New Bedford, MA, 02740."

New Bedford Public Schools needs to be listed as an Additional Insured. The “ADDL INSD” section for the Commercial General Liability should be checked “Y.”

The minimum general liability limit required is $1,000,000.00 per occurrence with a $2,000,000.00 aggregate.

Under “Description of Operations/Locations/Vehicles,” please include reference to New Bedford Public Schools being listed as an additional insured, and what specific event(s) and dates are insured.
