FACTS Teams

The New Bedford Public Schools and community agencies meet bi-monthly basis to identify and discuss distressed youth and families at the school based level. The FACTS Team will determine appropriate activities and needed services within a three-tiered problem solving model to assist students academically, behaviorally and emotionally.

Objectives:

1. Coordinate New Bedford Public Schools' staff and programs in order to look at student needs in a more comprehensive way.

2. To ensure students get exactly what they need to be successful in the New Bedford Public Schools.

3. Organize and integrate existing services and programs within each school and the community to enhance the effectiveness of seamless service delivery.

4. Improve communication and collaboration between schools and community agencies.

5. To avoid duplication of services between agencies involved with the student/family.

6. Develop needed activities and programs to fill gaps in services.
